Arkadian has completed a staged access route through an approximately 12-metre vertical section to the Jack Williams stope, using the mine’s existing workings.

Jack Williams is the westernmost historically mined part of the Main Lode, the principal quartz-vein structure responsible for most of Clogau-St David’s historic gold production. Records show that the Main Lode was worked eastwards from here for approximately 300 metres to the Bryntirion Fault, and for at least another 150 metres within the St David’s workings.

The work at Jack Williams follows directly from Arkadian’s 2020 underground drilling and subsequent three-dimensional geological modelling, which identified the potential western continuation of the Main Lode as an exploration opportunity.

With direct access now in place, the team can inspect, map and systematically sample two exploration areas: the ground within and around the existing Jack Williams stope, and the projected continuation of the structure to the west.

The detailed review of Level 5 also remains under way. Work there has provided a fresh, continuous geological exposure and accurately located samples. From early September, observations and samples from Jack Williams will be assessed alongside the Level 5 data, historic mine plans and the existing geological model as part of the wider mine review.

Any material findings will be announced once the relevant technical work has been completed and reviewed.

Completing the Jack Williams route brings an established exploration target within direct reach of the geological team. Together with the continuing Level 5 review, it extends the mine-wide evidence base and maintains progress across the Clogau exploration and development programme.
