Putting Motzfeldt on Greenland’s Critical Minerals Map

Greenland hosts numerous critical mineral occurrences, but only five projects were highlighted as hosting “very large deposits” in a 2023 assessment by the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS). Motzfeldt is one of them.

GEUS placed Motzfeldt in the highest deposit-size category used in its national assessment and identified South Greenland’s Gardar Province as an exceptional accumulation of critical raw materials. Motzfeldt contains a combination of niobium, tantalum, rare earths and zirconium within one extensive geological system.

This independent geological context underpins Arkadian’s phased programme to build the geological, environmental and processing data required to further develop Motzfeldt.
