Rougher and cleaner flotation tests have now been completed as part of Motzfeldt’s first-pass beneficiation programme.

The purpose of beneficiation is to determine whether the critical metal-bearing minerals can be separated from the surrounding non-target material and concentrated into a smaller, higher-grade mineral fraction. Rougher flotation is designed to recover the target minerals, while cleaner flotation further upgrades the resulting concentrate by removing more unwanted material.

The concentrates and tailings are now undergoing chemical analysis to assess how the different target minerals respond to the beneficiation methods tested.

The complete dataset and technical report, expected around mid-August, will be reviewed with Arkadian’s technical advisers. The findings will help identify which parts of the process should be refined and define the scope of the next processing programme, supported by new material from the planned Aries bulk sample.

This phased work is about building an evidence-based processing pathway from mineralised rock towards a concentrate suitable for further separation and downstream testwork. Over time, it will help Arkadian establish the recovery methods, concentrate characteristics and technical requirements needed to inform future development planning at Motzfeldt.
